Malmö: Elegant and Impressive
Malmö
Sweden

The taxi ride from the train station to the hotel is quite brief, yet my driver, an Iranian man, never stops smiling.
I immediately like this city.
The ornate and colorful architecture is impressive without being intrusive.
The grand Stortorget plaza is just that – grand.
The air is clear; the streets are clean.
Transportation is eco-friendly.
Folks are cheerful and shop owners are genuinely helpful.
My special-menu lunch includes a salad bar, pasta, beverage, desert and coffee. The staff is hospitable and charming.
Next to my hotel is a small fruit and vegetable shop. The young man, from Turkey, sells me the sweetest nectarines I have ever eaten.
I find a Thai restaurant and order a favorite dish - fried vegetables with cashew nuts.
Since it’s Friday, I walk to the elegant Art Nouveau/Moorish Revival Malmo Synagogue to attend Sabbath services.
I like this city!
